I made a huge mistake yesterday. I said that yesterday was arbor day was actually flag day.

So I apologize to all celebrants of flag day and to all those who love arbor day for my

my bone headed mistake. I will attempt to do better. I don't think today is a holiday so we'll be

making no joke about today. Nor will it be making a joke about my colleagues here today.

So one thing I should mention is that we are closing our special double summer issue or July

August issue today. Stuff will be going up online over the course. I'm not quite sure when

over the course of next week. Our lead article is by our very own no Rothman and excerpt from

his brilliant new book The Rise of the New Puritans. And we are calling it you are what you don't

eat. How food became politicized will be talking more about this piece and do a course and about

Noah's book in due course. But I also want to sort of commend your attention just to wet your

appetite. I'm just going to tell you a couple of the really fantastic things we have on tap

in the July August issue that should encourage you to go to commentary.org and subscribe.
