Well, hi, everybody. It's 10 o'clock central time here on Smarter News. Thank you so much for joining us. I'm going to go ahead and see if I can bring in our friends who are on Instagram. Sometimes it gets a little glitchy, so we'll see if it works for us. We had a brief moment of

panic when our microphone wasn't working. You know, these sort of gremlins just pop up in the system

and you just have to embrace them and keep going. It's more difficult when you're working solo or

just with one or two other people who can't actually solve that problem for you. But hopefully you hear us loud and clear. And we're glad to be back with you tonight. What I want to do right now

is just sort of give you some of the major themes that we're gleaning from a variety of different

news organizations. What I did over the last hour and a half since we last talked is I tried to

skip across different news platforms and see what are the themes that are

actually emerging. So if we could take a step back and think, what is the picture that is

actually being presented and sort of coming together? And I walk away with one of the big

takeaways, which is the play-by-play of this political process,

is very detrimental to the public.

And as someone who loves the news and loves watching the headlines and likes seeing

stories develop, I'm watching in the middle of someone giving a synopsis of what's

happening in a certain county, see the state suddenly changed from blue to red in a moment

because of a certain batch of votes that came in

was still a lot more of the state to report ballots.

And so even in that moment,

you see that the picture that was being painted

is now going to be reversed

and is likely going to be reversed again.

And back and forth we go. So it's no surprise that, again, we could wake up in the morning

with an expectation that's not met. And that's not what you want to do as part of the press.
