Summary

Join Jim and Greg for a special Thursday 3 Martini Lunch! With the 2025 elections just completed, they reflect back on the best, worst, and craziest elections in their memories.

First, they start with their favorite elections. Jim looks back at one from earlier this century that not only brought satisfying results but was also a big boost to his career. Meanwhile, Greg feels old but excited in highlighting one from decades ago that was not only a fantastic night in the presidential race but that was also really good down ballot.

Next, they look back on the toughest elections and one in particular stands out as Republicans seemed poised for a win but ended up well short. But the lingering effects of that election cycle has reverberated in every election cycle since.

Finally, they think about the craziest elections they remember. Is it possible to have an election crazier than one major party nominee getting shot and the other being forced to drop out by his own party? Well, actually, yes there is.

We're both Jim and I are away, so we decide ahead

0:22.2

of time, hey, let's talk about something special that day. And today we're going to be talking about

0:26.5

our favorite, least favorite, and craziest election nights and election cycles, in honor of

0:32.1

the results on Tuesday. We talked about the results yesterday, but we'll also be both be out tomorrow. We'll be talking about some more stories that slipped through the cracks. Could have been martinis, but other bigger stories kind of push them off the top of the bar. So get ready for that tomorrow. But today we're going to be talking about our favorite, least favorite, and craziest election cycles. And Jim, it seems like pretty much for the most part of this century,

0:54.4

they've been crazy. And we'll get to all of it in a moment. But you and I have been through

0:58.3

quite a few election cycles. That's the first thing that stands out. Yeah. Yeah. It's kind of, it used to be like a time. I'm like, oh, there's like a two, three, four big. It's like, no, No, like I went back to you, we were now.

It'll be interesting to see where our choices align.

1:10.9

I suspect, you know, the chances for'll be interesting to see where our choices align.

1:15.0

I suspect, you know, the overchances for overlap are pretty good, particularly our perception of good, perception of bad, and the craziest. I think people go most people already tell what

1:19.1

the craziest one is going to be already. But let's go through this and see how they go, Greg.

1:23.7

Yeah, exactly. The good news is there are multiple good election cycles for conservatives, multiple bad election cycles, and a whole lot of crazy, especially lately. So anyway, let's talk about our first great sponsor of the day, and that is Mizzen and Maine. Mizzin and Maine sent me, I don't know, five, six shirts and a couple of great pair of pants a while back. All of them fit fantastic, terrific material,

1:45.9

whether they're, whether they're for more of a fall look or a winter look or a golf shirt.

1:51.0

There was a wide variety of styles, but fantastic craftsmanship. And really, really, just,

1:56.4

they all look great, no matter which one I'm wearing. And so most dress clothes are uncomfortable.

2:00.8

They're high maintenance. They can get expensive if you always have to take them to the dry cleaners. That doesn't happen at Mizzen and Maine. You don't have to iron and you don't have to take them to the cleaners. Mizzen and Maine's shirts and pants look refined, but they're stretchy, lightweight, moisture wicking, wrinkle resistant and completely machine washable. No ironing or dry cleaning, which is an enormous time saver.

2:20.3

When you put their clothes on, you'll feel the difference instantly.

2:23.3

It's professional style that's actually comfortable whether you're in the office, on the road,
