From the Guardians today in focus this is election extra with me Lucy Hoff

this evening a Tory manifesto with 17 billion pounds in tax cuts and a Prime Minister still on the defensive.

Things have not always been easy and we have not got everything right, but we are the only party in this election with the big ideas to make our

country a better place to live. Labour says the manifesto is the most expensive

panic attack in history and even Sunak's own party still needs

convincing is this a make or break moment in the Tory campaign.

Well joining me is Heather Stewart, the Guardian's special correspondent.

So you've been watching this Tory campaign launch in Silverston quite strangely the home of the British

Grand Prix why did they choose that location? I mean that's a good question

clearly the message that that Ritchie Sunack wanted to give that I think was that

his party is sort of dynamic, you know, and moving quickly.

Moving fast, yeah.

And I mean, you know, almost immediately the Lib Dems were sort of tweeting a picture of a Grand Prix car with the wheels falling off so you know it could go either way yeah
