Hello and welcome to the political party. Oh my word

holding day is almost upon us and you can really feel it in today's show you can feel

the candidates seeing that finish line, managing their emotions and expectations, they are almost there.

They are pedaling fast and hard to get to that finish line and try and get over it successfully.

It's so different in this final week, isn't it?

I think even we as electors, you can feel it.

Voters, maybe is a better word.

But you think, oh wow, this is coming now. Maybe there is an atmosphere around the place,

you know, with the euros and everything. You know, oh wow, well the major event is going to happen in this country on

Thursday. We're going to wake up on

Friday morning and we might have a new government or we might not. Certainly the complexion of the

Commons is going to change massively.

So that is a thing.

And I don't know, am I the only one who gets a bit of adrenaline at the prospect of an election? Whether your side's going to win or lose or not, they are, obviously,

momentous nights and phenomenal nights for television.

But, my word, at the start of today's show there were 531 candidates to interview by the end.
