semester of our bully pulpit series. Mike and I will question the fellows for about 45 minutes,

questions. Let me introduce the fellows who are with us. Douglas Brinkley is the Catherine

Santa Brown Chair in Humanities and Professor of History at Rice University. He is a prolific

write around politics and public policy. His latest book is a monumental study of the origins of the environmental movement,

and I'll get to that later. Jane Koston is a contributing opinion writer for the New York

Times. Previously, she was the host of the opinion section's podcast, The Argument,

and was a senior political reporter at Box with a focus on conservatism in the GOP. Ron Galpert is the former controller and

chief financial officer of the city of Los Angeles and was the first openly gay official in this

city. Tim Miller was a political consultant and served as communications director for Jeff Bush
