Hello and welcome to the New European podcast. My name's Richard Porritt. I'm joined by

the journalist Jerry Scott, the editor of the New European Matt Kelly, and our regular guest,

Steve Anglesey. And you join us on the morning after the night before, a quite extraordinary

election night. Still a lot to be played out, obviously. But we are awaiting Theresa May's next move. We believe she's going to the palace

and is going to form an informal coalition with the DUP. Matt, what's your initial thoughts?

Well, it's just bloody grubby. I think having sat, I mean, the irony for me is having sat through Corbyn getting taken to pieces for sympathising and meeting with Sinn Féin all those years.

The irony that the first and only porter call Theresa May has got is to make an alliance with the DUP who are the opposite side of the

fence from Sinn Féin is is incredible and I'm struck by the fact that Paul Nottel has out dignified

Theresa May today which is just incredible you know he's he's absolutely ballsed it up and he's quit.

She's bulls did up and she's gone to the palace.
