And the The Black Panther Party is one of the most important organizations in modern American history and the subject of a hot new film called Judas and the Black Messiah

and the subject of this week's Toray show because I interviewed the former chairwoman of the Black Panther Party,

the legendary Elaine Brown.

What do you think about Elvat, and the Panthers place

in unwittingly changing gun laws because California

was like black people revolutionaries with guns like this we cannot have this and

change the law.

And the thing was there was only one, yeah, there was only one law that was that you could

carry a shotgun.

It wasn't like you could strap down with an oozy.

Not that, I don't think, I don't know if the Uzi was well known at that time, but you know certainly automatic weapons, M1s, M15s maybe.

So, but you had a situation where they attempted to have a gun control law to say that you could not

carry a shotgun openly in California.

So as we had the shotguns, you know, all the pictures of Huey and with the shock

with that pumped shotgun, the Huey didn't play with that bad boy either.

So it wasn't like this was a joke.

And so suddenly they said, well, even though it was fine up until then,

as soon as black men got a hold of a gun,

that's what gun control meant.

So today, when they talk about rights to guns, they don't mean us. You know, these law. I don't know that we unwittingly did that because we had to do something. And so that doesn't mean we put down our guns,

however.

We just couldn't carry a shotgun openly.
