Anytime you look at a handout where you can see that several sentences are written in all caps you know I am on a soapbox and I am on one today I am on one today I've had something happen over the weekend that has my mind in an absolute

tornado and it's something I feel very strongly it will not be by any means a new

theme to this class.

It just happens to be a very, very big passion of mine

and something we want to hit on and something we want to hit on hard

because it came as such a fresh reminder, such a fresh need to hear this

kind of scripture speak to this kind of need that we have in our culture. I want to read verses 1 through 8 of

Genesis chapter 17 verse 1 when Abram was 99 years old. How was he?

When Abram was 99 years old the Lord appeared to him and said I am God

Almighty walk before me and be blameless I will confirm my covenant between me and you and will greatly increase my covenant between me and you and will greatly increase your numbers.

Abram fell face down. I want you to picture him falling face down as a 99 year old man.

Could somebody just go there with me? Can you see it? I mean it's a

wonder he didn't die.

Abram fell face down and God said to him, as for me this is my covenant with you.
