Summary

The count is now up to 18 scholarship players that have entered their name in the transfer portal from Ohio State, with former 5-star WR Quincy Porter being the latest addition. It seems alarming on the surface, but this is the new normal in college football. Just look around at other programs and you will see this is true. In fact, there are some NIL/transfer situations in college football that make OSU's situation seem tame by comparison. Specifically, we're talking about what's transpiring with Washington QB Demond Williams, plus Missouri DE Damon Wilson II. Dave Biddle and Matt Baxendell tackle that and much more on the Wednesday 5ish. The Buckeyes have now lost 18 scholarship players to the portal. I guess some guys could come back. That's happened before. Two years ago, Bryson Rogers, who's one of the 18 this year. He came back. Sam Williams, Dixon, now Sam Dixon, who's one of the guys in the portal now entered last year and came back. So they could come back. I'm hoping Aaron Scott comes back, but I doubt he will. Let's start with Quincy Porter. That was one a lot of people were upset about last night. And I see why. What I was told backs was, listen, they obviously love Quincy Porter, but there's only so much money to go around. And Quincy was probably going to be the number three, number four receiver, depending how you look at it. JJ's coming back, which he announced.

Brandon Ennis, whatever people think about him, he's going to be a starter.

2:01.5

He's a captain as a junior. He'll be a starter. Then Chris Henry Jr. is getting paid. So if you want to beef up the trenches is what I was told by a good source. You can't have it both ways. You can't be paying five, five star wide receivers if you want to beep up the trenches.

So anyway, lots of unpacked there.

Welcome in and good to see as always. Your thoughts on Quincy Porter and all of this madness that we're seeing. Yeah. And I think Quincy Porter, from his perspective, A, that, look, it's hard for all of us as Buckeye people. We look at it and we're like, why would he leave?

2:34.7

He was only here one year. He's going to get a chance to play. He's going to make good money. Ohio State sends people to the NFL and all those are real things. But if this is your child and your child's like, I can make $200K or I can make a million dollars, it's hard to tell your child not to make that extra $800,000.
