0:56.3	saying, well, if Kevin McCarthy doesn't get Speaker of the House, then Hakeem Jeffries will get
1:01.1	Speaker of the House or somebody else will get Speaker of the House. But what everyone seems to
1:05.7	fail to realize is that in order to be elected Speaker of the House, you must have a certain

1:11.9	218 votes. And right now we've got 20 people who are not voting for Kevin McCarthy, and Byron,
1:18.8	excuse me, and Hakeem Jeffries does not have 218 votes himself. So there will be no one. And as long as
1:25.6	Kevin McCarthy keeps throwing his hat in the ring, the people who want to vote for Kevin McCarthy will continue to do so.
1:31.7	They will keep going up there and doing the exact same thing, expecting a different result.
1:36.1	They will leave that vote.
1:37.3	They will go backstage.
1:38.5	They will wrangle.
1:39.3	They will try to get the people who didn't vote for Kevin McCarthy to vote for him the next time.
1:43.7	And that can conceivably carry on until Kevin McCarthy gets 218 votes.
1:49.7	Right now, Kevin McCarthy is the person in the Republican Party who has the most votes
1:55.0	out of the caucus.
