This is where definitely me being a Pakistani Muslim woman, the concept of like, get married,

probably began at like 18.

The older I got, it got more serious.

So I would say like 25 is the age where like things definitely took,

you know, another turn. And that's kind of when my mom and like my grandma and other like female

members of my family kind of got really involved and nosy in my own personal life. And that

starts with meet somebody, get have children but to be very

honest with you I think the ways of the world are changing and I think even like my group of friends

the conversations that we have around like children or having children and like we want to be sure that

we're not passing on like generational trauma they're like maybe we are more aware of as opposed to

our parents.

You really start to think about the choices that you have to make and everyone has choices to make.

And I think for us like having children is a choice whereas like for our parents generation it wasn't really a choice.

It was like everyone does that. Each of us are on our own unique life journey. And for some of us, we have yet to find the one to

start a family with. So what do we do when society is constantly reminding us of our ticking biological clock

and how do we approach the conversation of having kids when we are truly ready? You're listening to

when I think about my future and having children on my own, inshallah. This anxiety stemmed from realizing that marriage may not be written for me at this very

moment, and my age is definitely not waiting on me to find the one. Like most, this is a very

intimate conversation that I have been having within my circle of close girlfriends.

Unfortunately, for some of us, we didn't learn much about fertility in our early 20s.
