Summary

Grief increases inflammation, which can worsen health problems you already have and cause new ones. It batters the immune system, leaving you depleted and vulnerable to infection. The heartbreak of grief can increase blood pressure and the risk of blood clots. Who knew an emotional response to a major life event had such physical consequences? If you’re new here, the phrase and mantra “ever forward” came from his father. His father’s death left such a significant and traumatic imprint on Chase’s heart, mind, and really his entire life, so much so that it became his reason for living.

In this discussion, Chase sheds light on his nearly two-decade long battle with grief and bereavement, sharing his personal story of the very significant trauma he has experienced. He also incorporates what science has to say about the relationship between grief and our physical and mental states. Chase then shares a few things he’s done to bring a sense of awareness to his grief and work through it.
