Hello and welcome to episode 2099 of Effectively Wild,

0:22.4

A Baseball Podcast from Fan fan graphs presented by our

Patreon supporters. I am the Lindbergh of the Ringer joined by Meg Rally of

fancrafts. Hello, Meg. Hello. Well this is a podcast where we talk about Shohai Oh Tani and the Dodgers every day.

0:37.0

Now I know the first part of that is nothing new particularly for this podcast, but does seem like those two keep making moves together and making

0:46.3

news for us to discuss whether it's acquisitions trades press, revelations about dogs' names.

important thing and to your point like we have heard directly from Otani's

2:00.8

physician so we have some sense of the surgery he had but you know I think that there was a sense among some that like

2:08.0

because he would be removed from the negotiation process because he would have made his decision he's putting on the

2:15.5

Jersey he has the cap that we might get more direct answers and we did get some answers but you know he didn't really want to give much in the way of insight into the other teams he spoke to what was maybe compelling or not about their offers and how they positioned

2:35.2

his place in their organizations. You know we had this sort of like funniness around the

2:40.7

surgery thing so like that you, I'm not alarmed by that,
