Yeah, you and I were just talking before we hit record about how quickly you

can feel disconnected from baseball if you don't follow it for a day and it

happens to be a day when there are a lot of games and things happen especially

if your job is to write about those things then it can very quickly feel like

you are out of touch well some things happened yesterday we're about to talk to

a Philadelphia Phillies employee and friend of ours, Corinne Landry formerly of

fan graphs and many other sites she now works for the Phillies front office and

we will ask her about that transition from writing to working for a team

Phillies themselves are coming off a pretty good game jk area to pitch seven

shut out innings the Phillies won seven nothing that's the latest in Phillies

land otherwise I think all the teams that were supposed to win one yesterday

which has been a rarity this season I see that the red socks are 16 and two while

the reds are three and 15 so yes I there's this sense that it's not entirely true

but like we came into the season thinking okay we have these contenders and then

we have these teams who are not even thinking about winning and it's like they've

gone to the extremes like all of them have just kind of gone in one direction or

the other where it's been like almost immediately a parent who's supposed to be
