Summary
In Episode 302, I sit down with the Row West crew following our first true test of the mission, a full 24-hour ocean run operating on a strict 2 hours on, 2 hours off rotation. This was our first real look at how we function as a team under fatigue, in the elements, and on the water, we will soon be living in.
We talk through what we learned physically, mentally, and as a crew. What worked, what did not, and what needs to improve as we get closer to departure. With about a month until we push off for Hawaii, this is where everything starts to get real and the small details begin to matter more.
This episode also goes into what we hope to gain from this expedition, who we are doing it for, and why we continue to lean into difficult things. Each guy brings a different perspective and background, and you can start to hear how it is all coming together.
Follow the journey, be inspired, and step into your own challenge.

| 0:00.0 | What's up, guys? Welcome back to the Endless Endeavor podcast. This is episode 302, and we have another |
| 0:05.2 | row west podcast. We took the boat out. We did a 24-hour rotation where we rode for two hours, |
| 0:11.8 | and we rested for two hours, and we did that for 24 hours. So each rower did 12 hours of work, |
| 0:18.4 | 12 hours of rest, because that is going to be our rotation when we're out on the ocean. Afterwards, we sat down and just talked about some lessons learned. As you guys can imagine, the Endless Endeavor podcast is going to take a turn and it is going to focus on the Roe West journey. I'm going to be documenting it while I'm out there still uploading podcasts without video though they're |
| 0:37.7 | going to be relatively short I would assume because we don't have a lot of |
| 0:40.7 | downtime and that is what is going to be transpiring for the next two months but |
| 0:45.5 | like we say every week a couple ads to knock out and then we will go into the show |
| 0:48.6 | momentarily we're first brought to you by courage through adversity that is my |
| 0:52.9 | book that is available on Amazon now thank you for all the. Thank you for all the support. Thank you for all the reviews. It's been doing very well. But I want to continue to encourage listeners to pick up a copy, read it, and I do not think you will be disappointed. I am extremely proud of this book. I believe I'm at a place in my life at 45 years old where I have enough life experience, |
| 1:11.3 | enough wisdom to be able to share things and lessons that I've learned to help other people |
| 1:16.5 | out and kind of get ahead of some of the problems that I struggled with as a young man |
| 1:20.1 | and even fairly recently in my life as well. |
| 1:23.2 | Courage through adversity available on Amazon now, please pick up a copy and please leave a review. And lastly, we're brought to by Vortex Optics. Vortex Optics has been with me for a long time. They are a big sponsor of the show, and they are sponsoring the Roe West Journey. So I really appreciate this company. They've done a lot of good things for me. They've supported our Gun and geese program along with some other things. |
| 1:49.8 | Everybody knows who vortex optics is. They are an optic company that really specializes in a wide variety of optics. They have their really high-end line, like their Razor HD Gen 3 that you're |
| 1:55.5 | going to put on the nicest sniper rifle you can buy. And then they have some other options for |
| 2:00.0 | your kids 22 if they're |
| 2:01.6 | going to go out in the woods and try and shoot squirrels. But here's the thing, regardless of which |
| 2:05.7 | model optic you get, there is a no-question lifetime warranty. They will repair or replace anything |
| 2:11.6 | that gets damaged for any reason. This is how our partnership with Vortex works. Vortex is not a direct-to-consumer website, |
| 2:19.0 | so you must go through Eurooptic.com, |
| 2:22.2 | and at that website, coupon code endless 20 will save you 20% off all of your Vortex products. |
| 2:27.9 | A substantial discount for Endless Endeavor listeners, please take advantage of that. |
