So this reinforces my opinion that they thought he was coming back.

I think they got way too cute in these negotiations, including Castillo mentioning again,

that Edwin Diaz was, quote, miffed by the Devin Williams signing and not being informed about it.

So whether you want to call Edwin sensitive or not, clearly the Mets handling of these negotiations helped nudge him slightly to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Now, why am I less mad at Edwin Diaz?

There was a third team that made an offer to Edwin.

We know about the Dodgers.

We know about the Mets.

And this third team made a five-year offer.
