I don't think it's wild to make the assumption that if you were the designer behind

0:23.3

massive video game hits like Super Meat Boy, finding of Isaac, that you would be pretty

0:29.7

confident in a game you've been working on for many, many years is good, people are going to like

0:34.8

it, and you're not nervous about what's going to happen when you

0:37.5

hit publish.

And yet, when I hopped on a call with designer Edmund McMillan, who is someone I've

0:43.8

chatted to many, many times over the years, one of my favorite people to talk to, just a really

something like 15 hours. I've almost finished the first act. I think it's excellent. I think

1:24.5

it's interesting. I think it's weird. I think if you didn't like Edmund's art before, you're not going to like it now.

1:29.4

I think it's very approachable for folks who have not played tactic games or are like me

1:33.9

and mostly only play X common fire emblem games because they're simple and more straightforward.

1:40.1

But with this conversation, what you're about to hear is, I think honestly a real conversation

1:45.1

about vulnerability. It's a conversation in which we talk about how Edmund is feeling going

1:49.8

into the release of eugenics, a game that is probably the least compromised in terms of

1:54.9

he's seen a lot of success. He's been able to spend the time, the money, the resources into

1:59.5

building this.
