I had an email recently, one of many from a guy called Keith who likes the show,

but was telling me two things.

Number one, he was saying that nobody wants to hear the London weather report.

Okay, well, I mean, if it's true that you really don't want to hear that today has been a lovely,

barmy early autumn day and you could feel the sunshine on your face, 63 degrees, 17 Celsius.

You know, on me telling you that stuff, then please let me know and I'll drop the London weather report.

He also said that I thank too many people.

I thank you for sending emails and I thank Adam and I thank people.

He said nobody wants to hear the thanks.

If that is so and I've been quietly doing that for all this time and it's something that you don't want,

then let me know and we'll make changes.

But one of the things about doing this, one of the things that I have learned is that

you have to be true to yourself and if you think there's a way to do something,

unless it's completely utterly, terribly off beam and wrong, then you just have to do your thing.

And, you know, I'm coming increasingly to the view that I'm just going to have to increasingly do my thing

because it is impossible. I started out by wanting to please all the people all the time and you can't.
