Well I hope that life is great wherever you happen to be or as good as it can be. As I record these words at the moment, a shaft of sunlight, a little bit of late September sun is beaming across my face and giving me a nice, big warm glow.

And I've got to say, I'm definitely in need of that at the moment. I hope that life is good for you.

If I sound slightly different on this edition and maybe on some subsequent editions, the reason is that I might have mentioned this, but the builders are doing renovation work on an apartment a couple of spaces below me.

And there's a lot of knocking, drilling, scraping and banging going on seems to be endless. I'm hoping that it will come to an end eventually, but just so that you don't hear any of that.

I'm using one of these microphones that you can go very, very close to. That's the reason for it.

It's one of those things. Normally these things are not a problem. I can close the windows and it's all fine, but not on this occasion.

So it just adds to all the fun that life has delivered to me lately, but whatever. Hopefully one of these days, my flat might be the target of a complete renovation, which it's solely and desperately needs.

But don't get me started with that. It's the biggest worry that I've got at the moment. So I suppose I'm lucky if that's all there is I've got to worry about.

1600 of them over the years apparently. I'm sure he will know about this. But if not, it may well be worth investigating further. I should say so Maureen. I have heard only through TV shows that I've looked at.
