As you may have guessed, we are back with Zach Locke's today farmer educator author, founder

We've been riffing on a lot of different topics and Zach, I figured today, maybe we

dive a little bit deeper into the practicality of someone's now convinced they want to look

at their landscape less as just a singular, you know, garden, I have some raised beds

and that's it.

But what else can I do in my landscape?

And they're looking at it and they're kind of coming up blank.

What are some ideas that we can kick them off with to just get their brain going?

Yeah, for sure.

Okay, well, I think one of my favorite ones, I believe we touched on the last time, is planting

along a laneway.

I mean, one of the first things I did when I saw my farm was to plant sugar maples along

my driveway.

And so that one day I would have a linear sugar bush that would be easy to tap those maples.

But then you could also integrate into that fruit trees.

You can put in, you know, dwarf cherries, you can put in plums.

You could swap out some of those maples for other large trees like mulberries.

You can create this edible ecosystem with all those layers, but you can have it along

a linear space of a driveway.

So that's a specific example of how we can apply edible landscaping, edible ecosystem
