I'm excited to have Dr. Mark Maryweather Vorderbrugan back on.

He is the chief chemist and herbalist for medicine man plant company.

Now yesterday we talked about elderberries, the king on the game board of the immune system

and things that you can do to grow in the garden and then finally use in your kitchen

to make herbal remedies and such and so this one mark I have grown although it might

be sacrilegious.

I grew it more as just sort of like an ornamental flower and do a whole lot with it and that

would be echinacea which you are dubbing the queen and so if we go back to that chess

metaphor you said the king very powerful piece limited in its scope the queen less important

than the king but extremely, extremely wide range of attack and and ability to sort of manipulate

the board right exactly.

So let me just read off the list of the different powers of echinacea that science has confirmed.

So it is an immune system stimulant, it's anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antiviral,

minor pain relief, soothes sore mouth and throat, reduces cold and flu and other upper respiratory

infections, soothes urinary tract inflammation, antioxidant, antifungal and protects against

cisplatin, anti-cancer drug toxicity.

Geez, I suppose it's like what does it not do is the shorter list then right.

Pretty much and there's one better one that we'll get to at the very end but the queen

because it's so common and so beautiful echinacea just deserve that position in the game board.

Okay, makes sense and so if I'm again kind of going back to what I asked you at the end of

yesterday's show but the elderberry I'm a gardener right and so if I've grown it just maybe
