Summary

Do you enjoy alone time and do your best thinking alone? Have you ever been told you’re too intense? How about networking, do you feel like you’re faking it when you have to network? If the answer is yes to any of these questions then you may be an introvert. In my work with Purpose to Platform, I’ve heard so many women consider themselves introverts. They usually admit to not being comfortable on camera, or speaking up in coaching sessions, or even stepping outside of their comfort zone to pursue their purpose. But the amazing thing about introversion is that it doesn’t have to prevent your success or your ability to chase your purpose. After listening to a podcast called “No Small Talk”, I finally realized that I am indeed an introvert. In this episode I wanted to bring in the hosts to discuss how you can be a thriving introvert in an extrovert driven industry. Ebony Omede and Sherry Balogun are the dynamic hosts of the “No Small Talk” Podcast - a lively space for introverts looking to build connections and level up in their personal and professional lives. Through conversation starters, interviews and discussions, they help introverts connect with others naturally and confidently without the small talk. Key discussion points from this episode include:   Creating The “No Small Talk” Podcast - 06:20 The Truth About Networking Events For Introverts - 10:08 How To Answer The Question: “What Do You Do?” - 14:47 How To Know If You’re An Introvert or Extrovert? - 18:46 Signs You’re An Introvert - 29:26 Parenting, Marriage, & Dating As An Introvert - 35:57 Prominent Leaders Who Identify As Introverts - 49:10 This episode is brought to you by Created For Purpose. This 5-day challenge is designed to help you get unstuck and transform your gift into a purposeful resource in the marketplace. Join us on December 7th and learn how to prevail online and thrive in turbulent times. I networked, but I didn’t enjoy the process.” - Sherry Balogun “A misconception about introversion versus extroversion is that introverts draw energy from spending alone time and recharging, while extroverts draw their energy from spending time with other people.” - Ebony Omede “The reason that I’m able to do what I do is because I spend more time by myself.” - Patrice Washington “Introverts are truly curious and interested about people and their reactions.” - Sherry Balogun “I don’t feel like I need people around me to enjoy my time. I can enjoy my time being by myself.” - Patrice Washington “The only way people can respect you as an introvert is by communicating it to people and setting boundaries.” - Sherry Balogun “Being an introvert does not have to prevent your success or your ability to chase your purpose.” - Patrice Washington   Redefining Wealth Rapid Wisdom Questions And with that, let’s dig into Ebony and Sherry’s responses to our Redefining Wealth Rapid Wisdom Questions.
