It was towards the end of summer in the middle of August, the time when families might try to squeeze in, you know, the last vacation before school starts back up.

After a very long summer of fighting off Dr. Stinky Breath, Ava, Jaden, and Mr. Jim had all planned separate trips with their families to enjoy a nice break before school started back up.

Oh, but don't worry, Maine headquarters was going to be keeping a close eye on things while they're away.

But, unfortunately, their relaxing vacations were about to come to a very unexpected end.

Ah, this is the best.

The best view, the best day, nothing could ruin today, said Mr. Jim.

He was with his family on an island off the coast of South Carolina.

They loved getting away to jump in the waves, build some amazing sand castles, maybe even

catch a fish or two, if they got lucky. Miles, Malachi and Derek were in the middle of building

a massive sand city when Malachi called out,

Hey, Mom, do we bring any of our bigger shovels?

Miss Jocelyn was sitting in one of those super comfy beach chairs and looked up from reading her book.

Uh, yeah, there's, I think there's three of them back in the van.

Mr. Jim jumped up and said, oh, I'll run back and grab them.

I actually forgot my walkie-talkie in the van, too.
