Welcome on to an east offseason grades edition of Dunkdown Prime, and we are coming to you from Riba Dasea, Spain in the beautiful region of Asturias, where I am testing the limits of what a cardioid microphone can do to eliminate echo in a room.

The Europeans, when their buildings were being built, hundreds of years ago, didn't

exactly consider the need to podcast from some of these rooms. So that's just what we're going

to do here. How you doing, man? I do it pretty well. And we can start, we're going to start

at the top of the list alphabetically, and it's with the interesting

important team, De Alana Hawks.

And as a reminder, a couple of different considerations for offseason grades.

One of them is that we grade relative to the kind of the opportunities, the kind of the

resources that you had.

So if a team started this with the first pick in the

draft, well, congratulations, you won the lottery. Taking the right guy, no, it's still a good thing,

but it's not a huge thing. If you had 50 million in cap space, it's very different than if you

have zero. And so you have those sorts of things. Obviously, these grades will change. We do regrades for a reason. And then the other thing is this is an organization grade. This is not. So for example, if you hire an executive, hire a coach or fire an executive fire a coach, that stuff all counts, even though that that decision is often more of an ownership-level

decision, as is the decision of whether or not to spend, which for a couple of the teams in

the East will matter a lot.

Well, the Atlanta Hawks are certainly an interesting team to begin with, because I want to

really go through this process on every team, but other than maybe the Rockets, like,

did they have the best off season of anybody?

Here's what they did.

They acquired Christophs Prozengis basically for the number 22 pick, although that was more

to move Terrence Mann to a third team with the Brooklyn Nats because Terence Mann was not a good contract. He was acquired

by the previous regime and that, of course, last trade is not part of these grades.
