It is the Saturday before Easter.

We know what's recorded in Scripture, and it's not a lot, but but it is powerful and we want to read that but

we know that at the end of the day on Friday Jesus you know he died and his body was was buried

I just want to jump right into the burial of Jesus and it says as evening approach on that

Friday night Joseph a rich man of

Arimathea, who had become a follower of Jesus, went to Pilate, and he asked for Jesus' body,

and Pilate issued an order to release it to him. So, this is now leading into Saturday. Joseph

took the body and wrapped it in a long sheet of clean linen cloth,

and he placed it in his own new tomb, by the way. So this is Joseph's tomb, which had been

carved out of rock. So it was kind of like a cave. And then he rolled a great stone across

the entrance and left.

By the way, some scholars believe that that was many, many people that would have helped him.

Joseph, by the way, was a rich man, a man of influence, a man that people definitely knew.

Both Mary Magdalene and the other Mary were sitting across from the tomb, and they were just watching.

Well, the next day, so this is Saturday, the leading priests and Pharisees went to see Pilate, and they told him, sir, we remember what the deceiver once said while he was alive.
