Christ has risen. He has risen indeed. Oh friend, welcome to the Prayers of Rest podcast. I'm your host, Ashrida Chuchu, and today we celebrate Jesus' resurrection from the dead. In the season of uncovering the love of Jesus, today we're

focusing on the truth that Jesus' love never fails. If this is your first time joining us,

welcome. I'm so glad you're here. We're going to pray together through the rest prayer acronym, that is, recite

God's goodness, express your neediness, seek his stillness, and trust his faithfulness.

As we begin, find a quiet place where you won't be interrupted, and take a deep breath

as we enter into God's presence together. Today's reading comes from Matthew chapter 28 verses 5 through 6.

The angel said to the women, do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus

who was crucified. He is not here. He has risen,

just as he said. Let's begin by reciting God's goodness, praising Him for who he is and for what

he has done in our lives. Oh Jesus, yours is the victory. You are the resurrection

and the life. You let go of the glories of heaven and came down to earth, taking on human

flesh, walking our dusty streets. Oh, what a great love you have shown us, that while we were

still your enemies, you died for us. And your death on the cross was not a tragic end, but rather

a victorious beginning, because you, Jesus, never fail. Death was not the end. The cross was not the end.

It was only the beginning. Jesus, it's your love that conquered the enemy of our souls on the cross,

and it's your resurrection power that proves that nothing can stand against you. Jesus, your love conquers all,

and you will never fail. So in the next few moments, praise Jesus for his victory over sin and death

in your life. We move now into a time of expressing our neediness.

And Lord, like the women at the tomb, I am often afraid of what I'm going to find if I go searching.

I'm afraid of the hardships that might await me tomorrow.

I'm quick to forget the promise of your victory, just like you promised your disciples

that after three days you would rise victorious
