0:02.0	And I'm Daniel Smith.
0:03.0	For today, what we're going to do is I'll begin by walking you through the final week of the Savior's life,
0:12.0	kind of giving you a bit of a virtual tour of Jerusalem at the time of Jesus, through those
0:18.0	different events leading up to his resurrection.
0:21.7	And then I'm going to be going over somewhat similar, but except with an emphasis on the Passover
0:27.4	and talking about the connections and the significance of how Passover teaches us about the
0:34.1	atonement and helps us really better understand why it's so significant that Jesus
0:38.8	chose the timing to be exactly during the time of Passover. What you're looking at is a depiction,
0:47.4	a digital recreation of the temple, Herod's second temple is what we traditionally call it, in Jerusalem. Now, this is temple
0:57.1	mounted, is the dominant feature of the city of Jerusalem. So if we click right here, you can see a
1:04.2	bird's eye view of the city at the time of Jesus. If you were to take this city and pick it up and put it into our modern world,
1:13.0	it's just under one square mile. For those of you who are familiar with Provo and the campus
1:19.5	of Brigham Young University, this city would overlay almost perfectly on the campus of
1:26.9	BYU today,
1:28.3	just under a square mile.
1:30.3	You'll notice Temple Mount is right here on Mount Moriah.
1:35.3	Mount Zion is higher up than Mount Moriah,
1:40.3	and the Taropian Valley goes in between them
1:42.3	with the two valleys on the sides, the Kidron Valley,
1:46.9	and the Hinnom Valley. So this is where it all takes place, that final week of Jesus's life.
1:54.4	Here's the overview. Jesus begins the week of the atoning sacrifice with his triumphal entry.
