Summary

On this day of resurrection, we remember the ultimate gift solely by Jesus giving up his life. God loves us despite any rules we follow, our efforts, our goodness, the information we know, or the ceremonies we take part in. In fact, none of that matters to him. Jesus died and rose again, so that we'd come to him as we are - not by what we do.

0:00.0	Church happy Easter. Thank you so much for joining us. We are right here in a studio celebrating.
0:12.0	Is it safe to say like this is the most important Easter in human history because it is the only Easter we really have.
0:21.0	We are here. We are celebrating the fact that Jesus did not just die,
0:26.0	but he rose again just like he predicted. And I want to remind everybody around the world.
0:33.0	It is because of Easter Sunday that we don't follow a dead guy who was a good preacher and miraculously healed a few people.
0:43.0	We worship a living God who proved everything he said is true.
0:48.0	All the miracles he did because he's divine. Jesus is not just a good man.
0:54.0	He's not just a good teacher preacher or a warm loving person who took care of senior citizens.
1:00.0	He's actually the living God and he's alive. And it's on this day that around the world,
1:06.0	billions of people are celebrating that our superhero Jesus proved that he's everything he said he was
1:14.0	because he beat death just the way he predicted he would. So we're going to celebrate that we're going to lean into that story.
1:21.0	I have to be honest with you, I love Easter as a preacher because it's the one Sunday that you just preach the same thing.
1:28.0	And I just want to say to preachers everywhere, if you're coming up with new content on Easter, you got to stop that.
1:34.0	Like there's only one thing to talk about on Easter and it is the empty tomb.
1:39.0	So I feel really exhilarated every time Easter rolls around. I'm like, oh, this is great. This is the old resurrection Sunday.
1:46.0	I get to preach the same message. Actually, I do kind of feel that way.
1:51.0	But it's always an anticipated day because it is a day we come together and we celebrate life.
1:57.0	We celebrate purpose. We celebrate meaning. We celebrate that there is one true God and he is alive.
2:05.0	There has been a myriad of great teachers and thinkers and writers and healers and helpers and lovers.
2:12.0	Jesus, Jesus stands head and shoulders above them all because when they came to visit his grave, he was gone.
2:20.0	And then he appeared to hundreds of people and levitated into the sky.
2:25.0	To be honest, everything we believe hinges on this day that we celebrate and commemorate Jesus.
