Hello and welcome to the Bill Press Pod Reporter's Roundtable.

I'm Jason Dick, editor-in-chief, at Cickey Roll Call, sitting in for Bill.

Here in Washington, D.C., it's about 8.30 in the morning on June 27th.

And thankfully, at least for now, the heat wave is over. It's been one of those

momentous weeks. In the wake of last weekend's U.S. strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities,

President Donald Trump claimed they were obliterated, totally obliterated, as opposed to partially

obliterated. Initial intelligence reports saw it differently. The administration looked

to reclaim the narrative. They delayed some classified briefings for the House and Senate,

disputed their own reports, and then brought out their senior national security big guns to make

the case that it was, in Defense Secretary Pete Heggsett's words, the greatest military

operation in history. It all led to questions about what intelligence

reports could be trusted. Meanwhile, Senate Republicans are continuing their efforts to construct

that chamber's version of the one big, beautiful bill, but they keep running into roadblocks

from within their own ranks in their attempts to cut funding for Medicaid, boot stamps,

and other programs

that their constituents depend on, as well as the Senate parliamentarian.

Meanwhile, the New York City mayoral race produced a Democratic primary winner that continued

to show the deep divisions in that party, a result that could also shape the 2026 elections.

And finally, the Supreme Court wraps up its term this week

with some cases that will likely reverberate in the public

and certainly here in Washington.
