But the big news of the day, we did an emergency podcast earlier on.

The Pirates are promoting Connor Griffin here today on Friday.

So make sure you check that out.

But then shortly after we did that podcast, we found out that the two sides are working to finalize a nine-year, $140 million extension, which would, I guess, if it's not completed by tomorrow, I don't know how that'll work.

I guess it would be the longest extension for a player who hasn't debuted, but he's going to debut tomorrow. So I don't...

But I've also seen some speculation that they're going to delay the announcement of the contract until he makes his debut because for the prospect promotion incentive where teams get a first round

pick if a guy, I think it's wins rookie the year or finish his top three in MVP in the first

three seasons of their career, I think is the way it works. You get an extra first round pick

if that happens, but you're not eligible for that if the player is signed for an extension.
