Polls began to close around America and the results of the presidential election started to roll in.

see our US in brief page. With 22 states having been called, all have so far plumped for

the expected candidate. Donald Trump won Texas and Florida, the Sunshine State, by a hefty 13%, as things stand.

None of the key swing states have yet been called.

No big voting problems have been reported, although a number of reports of bomb threats,

none deemed credible, delayed polls closing in Georgia.

In the race for the Senate, the Republicans flipped a seat in West Virginia.

Jim Justice will replace Joe Manchin, a retiring Democrat turned independent.

Around a third of the seats in the chamber, which is currently controlled by Democrats,

are being contested.

Meanwhile, in Florida, an attempt to enshrine abortion rights failed. The measure which would have helped overturn the state's

six-week abortion ban was approved by 57% of voters, short of the 60% it needed to become law.

Police used foul-smelling skunk water and other extreme measures

to disperse hundreds of protesters in Tel Aviv, reported local media.
