Early intervention is a very broad term. It's used to describe the services and supports

that are available to young children. So we're talking babies infants, preschool age usually,

who might need more support. And the most common way people I think think about it is children

with developmental delays and disabilities at an early age. So usually pediatricians and other

providers kind of recommend referrals to families to get quote unquote early intervention when

there's a diagnosis. So whether it's from birth, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, or it's a year

into their life when they are diagnosed with a speech delay or autism, they're diagnosed

with a spectrum. That's kind of like that first go to a we're going to send you a referral for early

intervention because early intervention allows you to get started earlier than just going into school.
