There's AJ Brown heading into the facility first day of work, June 2.

We mentioned this yesterday.

One of the benefits to doing this deal after June 1, the Patriots still have two more OTAs this week.

They have a full week of OTAs the week of the eighth, and they have their mandatory minicamp the week of the 15th.

There are extended opportunities for A.J. Brown to get his feet wet and the Josh McDaniels off at.

So one of the reasons why the Patriots weren't clamoring to get this deal done earlier, They understood the Eagles need to wait until after June 1 to manage the cap charge. The Patriots are fine with it. And the Patriots were content with the confidence, Devin, that somebody else wasn't going to swoop in and make the Eagles a better offer. AJ Brown wasn't going to play for anybody else. And I know it had to have a no trade clause. You don't have to have a no trade clause when you're AJ Brown and someone's going to give up a first round

pick. They're not going to give up a first round pick for a guy who doesn't want to be there. He

wanted to go to New England. This thing was hiding in plain sight for weeks. We knew what was going to

happen. I thought they'd maybe wait a couple of days just to mess with this, but they need to get him up there and get him to work. Yeah, and there's an excitement and a buzz.

And I think the last time I was on here, we talked about in New England,

we've never seen guys actively talk about a player and the possibility of what he

would bring to the team when he was on another team.

So this was unlike any type of trade really that we've seen in the offseason where

you had you had teams talking about whether him being gone, whether him being on your

team.

So it's great that this finally got done.

And again, I think the New England Patriots understand, I think especially Josh

McDaniels of what it means to get in there and hear everything he's coaching, what he's

saying, and then to have two, three days to go and do it.

And then you'll get to go do that.

But then you'll also get to go back, and the

whole offseason, you're dialed in. You're talking about it. You know exactly what is needed,
