parted ways with, for my money, the

best left tackle in football, Laramie Tunsell, Washington acquiring him yesterday at around

4 p.m. Eastern time. The commanders get Tunsell in a 2025 fourth round pick while shipping out

this year's third, this year's seventh, and next year's second and fourth.

I continue to think it's a slam dunk move.

I think it helps them significantly on the field for the next three, four seasons at least.

But then the other part of it is this.

I think it really speaks to how they view themselves internally.

They think they are a piece or two away from getting back to where they were last year.

That was at the top of the mountaintop in the conference championship game against the eventual Super Bowl champion Eagles.

Is it misguided for Washington to think that they are a championship contender?

I think it depends on who you ask.

I think there are some people out there.
