This was the headline in yesterday's Athletic, the look at why and how the Eagles fell apart so quickly.

4,312 words. If you read every one of them, I'll send you a T-shirt. As I said last night,

my guess is far fewer than 4,312 people read all 4,312 words. I don't want to get into a rant here about

these long reads, but folks, nobody reads all of them. No one is reading all of them. Not even the

mothers of the writers are reading every single word. I don't know why there's all the fluff and all

the filler and why it has to be this grandiose sweeping thing to get people to take it

seriously. We take it seriously based on what's in it, not how many words are in it. Am I wrong, Chris? No, I mean, listen, I'm with you. I mean, it's just, didn't you just write a book, though? Didn't you just do something like that where you're talking about it? That's different. Okay.

I'm not, yeah, yeah, I did two actually during the pandemic, but that's different okay i'm not yeah yeah i i did two actually during the

pandemic but that's different than an article that i'm expecting someone to read in the middle of a

work day it can't be 4300 words no one's going to read it all and then what happens is and i think

this is the common reaction the human reaction there is part of me that is still human. You read the first five or six paragraphs, and then you start scroll,

scroll, scroll, scroll, looking for something. Well, you stop with that. Scroll, scroll, scroll,

and stuff jumps out. Quarterback of the future. Can, listen, all right, thank you. So,

they're trying to figure out what went wrong with the Eagles.

Yes.

And like anything else, when dysfunction descends on a team, the fingerprints are from everyone.

It isn't just one person that all of a sudden went haywire and everybody else sat back and said,

gee, I wonder what's going on.

Everyone's involved.

Everyone's to blame.

And if you read all of it or some of it like I did, you'll come to the conclusion that everyone's to blame.

But one of the big takeaways is they never really treated Doug Peterson reportedly with respect.
