With a century of co-breaking behind them, there's a rich history to dive into,

and it's not just about Bletchley Park. The team at today's Bletchley Park have marked GCHQ's

centenary with a new display called From GCS to GCHQ. We find out about some of the people

and stories in the exhibition from those behind its creation.

David, how are you finding being GCHQ's official historian that we've outed now?

Well, I find it quite honestly a genuine privilege.

I mention this to quite a few people.

It's an honour and a privilege to have the job and to be the custodian of our rich and varied history.

Tony's, as you know, a hard act to follow, but I'm hopefully going to do it justice over the next few years. I've got a genuine passion for history, and this year is our

centenary year. It's a really important milestone for us as an organisation. I suppose in a way,

because you've worked for the organisation in an operational role, then carrying on as a historian.

It makes a different feeling for someone who just gets a job somewhere as a historian, I imagine.

It gives you a real foundation, the background knowledge that you've got from the experiences

you've had working in operations, seeing the difference that Signals Intelligence makes
