All is back to school. You know, you're off vacation, maybe starting a new career. And now you find yourself, whoa, you know, like, here we go. Most people at this point already find themselves caught up in, are you kidding me? Like, what are you talking about, John Allen? I don't have time to think about this. You don't know my life. Like, I'm already down the river here.

I've got a new workload.

I've got my kids in school.

I can't even get dinner on the table.

That's why we're talking about this right now.

So, Alan, you know that I am a big C.S. Lewis fan.

Right. He's, he's, I am a big C.S. Lewis fan. Right.

He's, he's, I just am so grateful for him, uh, even early on, you know, 40 years ago,

early in my Christian life.

Yeah.

I came across his writings and, oh gosh, how helpful he's been over the years and not just the fun the narnia

stuff and you know the science trilogy and some of his fiction writing fantasy writing but like the

deeper theological yes philosophical reflective stuff oh i just eat stuff up. So one of my favorite books of his

is The Weight of Glory. Do you know that collection of essays? It's a little collection of

essays, one of which is a talk that he gave called The Weight of Glory. And he's reflecting on

humanity and what we were made to be.

What does it mean to be image bearers?

What's our destiny?

And why we have these profound longings in our hearts that don't seem to match up with life right now.

And so he's reflecting on the weight of glory.
