Dallas Willard had this lovely memorable phrase.

It was such a Dallasism.

He would say, we are in training for raining.

You are in training for raining.

So your inheritance is the Garden of Eden,

where you as daughter of Eve, son of Adam,

were intended to rule the earth.

Okay? You were created to rain. And in the new earth, in Revelation, it says, and you will reign with him forever.

So God doesn't redeem humanity and then put them on the bench and go, okay, everybody, you know, enjoy your eternal rest.

You're like, you are back in the game.

The whole story is back on track.

All your calling, all your purpose, all your identity, you will rule over kingdoms, galaxies,

everything you were meant to do in this life that you feel so frustrated that you can't,

oh yeah, that all, it's, it is a continuity of existence, a continuity of reality.

It's not a new story, it's a renewed story.

Okay, so you will reign forever, folks. You're just designed for it.

How does God train his people to get ready to run the galaxy for him?

Your current problems. Your current life. Your current situation. You are in training for raining.

And a good bit of that takes place with the warfare.
