our best is there anything we need to talk about before we begin yes there's something

I need to get off my chest and this will be the first and the last time that I want to address this issue.

Since we started this podcast over a year ago, it happened like a handful of times that we got reviews or messages saying that they enjoy our podcast,

but that they hate that we quote just need to bring politics into this end quote, or that we we quote should stop to talk about politics

end quote because you listen to podcast to get away from politics or because you don't

agree with what we say about politics listen I get that you might not want to hear about politics. I often feel the exact same.

Especially if it's about politics in a country that I don't even live in.

But, and this is a huge but, this is a conversational style podcast and any and I are not straightforward

storytelling kind of people. We are two hosts who talk to each other and therefore our personal view on things will never not shine through.

We are not robots, it's just not possible for us.

Also, this is a true crime podcast.

Crime is a lot of things that are considered political, like gun laws or law enforcement,

correctional system, crimes against minorities, all this stuff. How do you expect that we talk about this without our own viewpoints?

This is not a political podcast. We don't discuss politics, but guess what?

Annie is an American liberal. I'm a European centrist. We don't even agree on all things, I think.

No. But this is what will influence the way we see things.
