Johnny Thompson, many of you know, my hero, my mentor, my friend, my co-worker.

Johnny Thompson, I did the gambler's ballot about.

Johnny Thompson, who was the great Tom Sony and who we did the, the Dove Act in our show.

Johnny Thompson, who for over 20 years has been working with Penn and Teller,

guiding us on everything.

Johnny Thompson, who was like a grant, like a grandfather to my children.

Johnny, uh, Johnny died today.

Today is Saturday and recorded this early.

Johnny died.

He was working on Penn and Teller Fooless and he, um,

right after working with an act, he, um, collapsed next to my clothes.

His heart stopped.

Uh, there was CPR, the, uh, EMTs got him, uh,

get his heart going again.

He went in and, um, was in the hospital for, well, from that Monday until today,

so 10 days.

Uh, he was conscious for a few moments.

I spoke to him, made a few jokes, but he couldn't answer back because he had ventilator in his mouth.

But, uh, he was clearly there and I made eye contact.

And, um, that he died.

And we knew he was going to take care of his wife, but doesn't make it easier.
