Summary

Suzanne's guest this week is Enneagram 4, David Gaffney! If you think that a Texas high school football coach couldn't excel as a 4 with more 4s on his staff, then you're wrong! The kids at John Paul II High School are really blessed to have him there. A real theme in this week's conversation is the enneagram and orientation to time, and David does a great job of speaking to the strengths and struggles of his number. Thank you for listening and sending in your questions, and please leave a review to let us know what you think about the show!

Hello, Suzanne. My name is Anita. And your podcasts and books have played a big part in helping me

0:18.0

broaden my understanding and deepen my journey of transformation with God through

0:22.2

the anyagram.

0:23.7

I found particularly helpful the way you unpack the stances, what particular

0:29.5

anygram numbers notice, and orientation to time. My question is a simple one related to

0:36.0

orientation to time. Obviously we each have our home orientation to time in our

0:41.5

particular space on the anyagram. But here's my question.

0:45.0

Might we move into a different orientation to time if we move toward the numbers that

0:50.6

represent our stress or health spaces or one of our wings that has a different

0:55.8

orientation of time than the number with which we identify.

0:59.6

I ask this because as a one who has a time orientation to the present I'm

1:05.4

noticing that when I move toward my stress number for or draw heavily off of my

1:10.4

nine wing my focus shifts to the past,

1:13.5

and when I'm moving toward my health number, seven,

1:15.8

my focus shifts more toward the future.

1:19.0

It seems to me if this is accurate that it's another way

1:22.4

to help with a work of

1:23.4

inner observation and noticing and to respond rather than to react.

1:28.0

Thank you for taking my question and especially for being willing to share the gifts that God is entrusted to you by serving others with them.

1:37.0

Welcome back everyone to the Annagram journey.

1:40.0

Thank you so much Anita for your question and a reminder to everybody that you can send in your questions at the

1:46.8

any gram journey dot org and Suzanne and her guest will do their best to try to answer them.
