All right. So thanks for coming on. I really appreciate it. I have, I don't, I have gone through

this whole scenario with my Mastiff, and which is what led me down this gut biome, microbiome,

experiment that I've been doing. I originally spoke with Rodney Habib.

We worked through all sorts of different stuff about the gut biome and tried to figure out what's going on.

And so I am, this podcast has just been so amazing for me to be able to

connect with people like you and learn more about dogs, but learn more about all sorts of

different medical avenues as we go down, and especially science now is coming out with all these

new stuff.

been doing with your company?

So I'm Holly Gantz.

I'm the chief science officer and the co-founder

of Animal Biome, which is a company that is dedicated to improving gut health in cats

and dogs. I am a microbial ecologist, which means that I think about how microbes interact

with each other and with their animal hosts.

I did my PhD at UC Davis thinking about these kinds of questions and then really started

thinking about cats and dogs more deeply when I adopted a herding dog in grad school and

she became like the love of our lives and just ruled our lives

as hurting dogs do and um eventually she developed a GI condition called hemorrhagic gastroenteritis
