Welcome back to Kotaku split screens coverage of E3 2017. My name is Kirk Hamilton. I'm

editor at large at kataku.com. I'm joined from L.A. by Kutaku's news editor, Jason Schreier. Hi, Jason.

How's it going this morning? Hi, Kirk. So this was kind of a week E3 so far, and then Nintendo

comes along and is like, fuck you all, Metroid Prime 4. Here's a Metroid Prime.

Yeah, I thought that. I mean, it was funny because it was literally a title screen. It was just

Metroid Prime 4, but that was enough probably to get, yeah, to get a lot of people to say,

oh, Nintendo 1E3, that's it, game over. Yeah, yeah, and I've always felt like the whole concept of winning or losing E3 is pretty

dumb.

Yeah, I mean, yeah.

Nintendo definitely came out and put a bow on E3 and kind of saved us from what was

sort of a dull conference from a new game announcement and spectacle perspective.

Nintendo just came around and delighted us all with Mario and Metroid and other cool stuff for Switch. They're very good at that, I thought. Um, it's, it's funny because the, so I thought the Nintendo press conference in general was this interesting mix of, like, let them saying, look look we're on top of shit I thought the
