E3 is officially underway in a really big way! Day 1 consists of thr group running all over town to attend the 4 major press conferences (Sony, Microsoft, EA, & Ubisoft). These conferences are usually filled to the brim with filler and rarely feature many major game announcements. Luckily, this year is quite the opposite. The new generation of hardware has ushered in one of the most memorable conference days in recent years! We're talking Mirror's Edge 2, Final Fantasy XV, and much more!

| 1:05.9 | Why are you looking at me like that, Chris? |
| 1:08.5 | No, it's the fact that you're staring me down as you say day one. Day one podcast. Today was... Day, eh, oh. What was that, Joseph? Day like, come, me long go home. This is a long day. Today was conference day. It's always the longest day. A lot of people, I'm sure you've been following this at home. There's been lots of news breaking today. Today is the big, big news day. So we spent pretty much all day going from conference to conference to conference. And there's a lot of stuff that was announced, a lot of really interesting things, a lot of not-so-interesting things. But we're going to go down and we're going to talk about everything. So we're going to, in the first segment, we're going to talk about Microsoft and EA, take a break, come back, we'll do Ubisoft and Sony, and then tomorrow the show floor opens, so we'll actually be playing a bunch of stuff to start tomorrow. So that said, let's just jump right into it, |
| 2:02.1 | starting with the Microsoft Conference this morning, |
| 2:04.3 | which opened with, quite honestly, |
| 2:06.6 | one of the best things we saw all day, |
| 2:09.1 | Metal Gersault 5, Phantom Pain, |
| 2:11.6 | being demonstrated on the Xbox 1. |
| 2:14.3 | However, I'm pretty sure all of us here |
| 2:15.7 | will be playing it on the PlayStation. We'll talk about that later. Yeah, we'll get to that. Which we'll talk about later. That's the second segment stuff. So, so I, I didn't expect them to open with this game at Microsoft Conference. No, Microsoft has a tradition of either being Halo or Call of Duty. Yeah, and they had their Call of Duty thing yesterday. |
| 2:35.6 | And then, son of a bitch. |
| 2:36.9 | But, Metal Gear Solid 4 was not only a big game for PlayStation 3, but it was exclusive |
| 2:41.5 | to PlayStation 3. |
| 2:42.2 | Yeah. |
| 2:42.5 | Like, it was a press conference darling for them. |
| 2:45.5 | So to get that and open for, you know, your Xbox one, that's a big thing. |
| 2:50.1 | That's as big as when Microsoft got... Final Fantasy. No, equal rights to Grand Theft Auto. Well, yeah. Well, it's not quite that big. That's also... I would say it's pretty big. Well, no, of course it is. Would you say it's this big? Sorry. Okay. Anyways. I'm sorry, I'm not into dick measuring. |
| 3:08.3 | Metal Gear Solid 5, Phantom Pain, was demonstrated as fully open-world game, which, they had talked |
| 3:16.2 | about this before as being an open-world game, but I don't think a lot of us really kind |
