| 0:00.0 | I was a very active, faithful Mormon for most of my life. My ancestry goes back Mormon pretty much as far as you can count people who knew Joseph Smith. The book of Mormon's credibility is really tied directly to Joseph Smith. Was there any clues in his upbringing that he would become this, at best, a prophet and at worst a coal leader? I mean, you could say, right? I would say yes and no. And here's kind of what I mean. Did you know all of this when you were a young Mormon missionary? Oh, no, I knew none of it. And normally did I know none of it. Anytime I heard a rumor about something like this, I was explicitly told that it was a lie. At this time, exploring orthodoxy. Yes. You end up becoming Roman Catholic. Yes. Why not Orthodox? That's a great question. |
