I am joined, as always, by my friend and comrade Danny Bessner, and we are very pleased

Joshua Cray's. Joshua is a writer and researcher. He specializes in Sudan and South Sudan. He is here

today mostly to talk about the latter, although we will undoubtedly have to get into a bit of the former

to understand what's happening. But Joshua, thank you so much for coming back to the program.

back on. So South Sudan has been in the news a bit lately, probably not as much as it should be

here in the West or here in the U.S., but we've seen reports of fighting between factions there,

the peace process, the 2018 peace deal breaking down. Most recently the last couple of

days, it's been in the news because the Trump administration is apparently trying to traffic

migrants to South Sudan. Lucky for everybody concerned. But basically, we want to understand

what's been going on. So let's go very basic here.
