Summary

If you were born in the 80’s, these four letters share a special place in all our hearts. Drug Abuse Resistance Education was created to instill a certain amount of fear in any kids heart. Today I reflect on the validity of those teachings as marijuana is becoming increasingly more accepted. I touch on the opioid crisis and the need for change. Finally, I open the can of worms that is micro-dosing.

0:45.5	This is a polarizing topic this whole like I remember growing up and it couldn't have been third or fourth grade at the oldest.
0:54.0	You know, there was that dare bear that came around
0:56.6	that had the black shirt on with the red writing
0:59.6	that literally set on a drug abuse resistance education there was this massive push back then
1:04.8	I mean gosh I would have been in third grade out of an eight years old so
1:08.4	potentially 1992 or so 92 93 there's just massive push so I think maybe if I remember it I could be off it was either I think it was
1:17.1	Clinton that was in office during this time there's this push to just
1:20.8	eliminate drugs and that we have to educate the youth on why
1:25.8	drugs are so bad. Now inherently as I'm sitting here I don't disagree that drugs
1:31.1	are bad.
1:33.0	Like really in any capacity.
1:34.6	But let's look as time has progressed.
1:36.4	Let's look at how the world looks just as a snapshot
1:39.3	right now, 2018.
1:41.3	So granted, we're zooming ahead now.
1:43.6	It's crazy to say how old this now makes me.
