So I recently had a difficult realization, as I'm sure people are almost tired of hearing about this for me for now, but this is half my life right now.

Anyways, so when I started my PhD,

I submitted a proposal to look at the notion of sacrament

and how it influences Rath Singer's notion of the human person.

It's theological anthropology.

Yeah, sounds great.

And this is what I was working towards.

This is what I was aiming towards.

But then I would start these little questions started to pop up as I was investigating this.

And then about a year and a half ago, like the floodgates opened about a deeper question in Ratzinger that I didn't really realize initially.

Then it implies anthropology, but it didn't necessarily go into it.

And I had a conversation a couple weeks ago with my thesis advisor,

and we're just talking about, because I'm talking about,

he has this phrase.

He says, the biggest crisis we're facing today

is the relationship of, is the mediation of history

in the realm of ontology. That's the phrase.

Big phrase, big question.

And it's becoming more and more the hot question in theology right now.

So I'm like, ooh, I'm cutting edge right now.

Even though it was a hot question 50 years ago too.
