Summary

Today’s 15 minutes are about false idols.

Why do people become idols? Practice, practice, practice. You can’t become a master without hard work, dedication, and practice. When we look at people who are experts are what they do, it’s easy to assume that talent is the sole reason for success. We see the talent on display, but we often don’t see the hard work required to bring that process to light. Today I talk about how I discern good from bad when it comes to idols and people to look up to.

0:07.0	I'm your host Ryan Naidel and today's episode is Who Do You Idolize?
0:14.0	So I get done meditating this morning and my mind's kind of all over the place.
0:20.6	Meditation the past couple days hasn't been really a fluid
0:24.0	process for me. It's been a lot more consuming. I'm trying to expand my practice
0:28.0	and try to understand a lot more about how to tap into different pieces of myself
0:32.0	and then through myself the universe.
0:33.9	And anytime I try to expand and grow, things get a little uncomfortable for a while.
0:37.2	Whether that's in the gym or in business or whatever it would be, expansion's never easy,
0:41.4	at least not for me. So I I'm looking I'm trying to find these
0:45.1	people that have proven track records on meditation and what that means and
0:49.1	how to find success with it and reading books and listening to
0:53.1	audio books and really just devouring content the best I can.
0:57.0	And through that it gets me questioning like it's so someone creates a book or a
1:01.4	podcast and because I'm consuming that content I'm assuming
1:05.5	that they're an expert right I mean they're pronouncing themselves or saying
1:09.3	they're an expert in the world and so I'm assuming they are I don't do a
1:12.4	whole lot of background checks on are I don't do a whole lot of background
1:13.0	checks on them I don't see their references you know I just assume that what they're
1:16.6	sharing with me has to be the best because people in my opinion inherently have
1:20.4	good intentions not bad but But through that it almost
1:24.6	morphed into the situation where I start wondering am I chasing a false
